Dancesport Championships

Friday March 11th Kayla and I participated in the Amateur

Dancesport Championships help in the Marriot Center here

on Campus. It is a three day event where hundreds from

all over the united states and even some international

couples come and compete in a variety of dances and events.

We competed in the BYU classroom events for our dance

280 class. We dances the triple swing against about a hundred

couples. We were just happy to compete and have fun, since

we had very little time to practice prior to the event. To our

surprise we actually did pretty well. We made it all the way

to the semifinals. When we made it three rounds to the

quarter-finals we were amazed. this is the third time i have

competed in this competition and I had never made it to the

quarter finals and this was Kaylas first time competing in it.

then we made it to the semi-finals, one of twelve couples.

From there I made some mistakes and we were a little tired

and just didn't dance as well as some of the other couples,

so we didn't make it to the finals. But being one of the top

12 couples in the 280 classes was really fun and exciting.
